Undeniable proof that fall is coming...
For most it's the cooling air, the changing foliage, or the back-to-school supplies. For fashionistas, it's the change in clothes and cosmetics that mark the coming of autumn. The change in sleeve lengths, the switch from strappy sandals to Frye boots, the deeper makeup color palette... with so much to do, is it any wonder we have to start two and a half months early??
Though I've enjoyed this season's mani trend (who can be around neons and brights and not smile??), my inner vamp always rejoices when the time comes to go dark. And as always, OPI is coming through.
The Paris collection isn't out yet, but pictures look promising! A collection full of reds, deep burgundies, and rich plums is sure to find a home in my stash. I especially can't wait to swatch Parlez-Vous OPI, which looks to be a cool gray/ lavender shade and You Don't Know Jacques!, which could turn out to be a unique green.
Not since Chicago has an entire collection come home with me, but I have the feeling France will be my destination this fall.

The top row left to right: Parlez-Vous OPI?, Louvre Me Louvre Me Not, Eiffel for This Color, You Don't Know Jacques!, Tickle My France-y, Baguette Me Not The bottom row left to right: A Oui Bit of Red, Crepes Suzi-ette, Bastille My Heart, Yes...I Can-Can!, We'll Always Have Paris, I'm Fondue of You
Also coming up... the Halloween Kit, for those thematic fashionistas among us (you know who you are!), and the holiday collection.
A red, glow in the dark white, orange, and black, along with nail decals and the ever-important spider ring. Have that grade-school classroom party flashback.

Red-y to Strike, Ghostess with the Mostess, Heeere's Jack, Spiderella.

"Sheer" Your Toys, You're a Doll, Glamour Game, Brand New Skates, Baby It's "Coal" Outside, Play Til' Midnight, Girls Just Want To Play, Red Hot Gift, Little Red Wagon, Rosie Mistletoes-ies, A Ruby For Rudolph, Don't Toy With Me!

"Go ahead and feel what I want you to feel-jealous."

You know you want it!
Since I have always aspired to be Carrie Bradshaw, it's appropriate that my inaugural object of desire is Sex and the City by Amy Sohn. A veritable guide to covetable items, the hardcover's best feature is the breakdown of wardrobe by character, listing all the fabulous designers.
The book contains an over-100 page storytelling-style summary of the movie illustrated with incredible photographs. The photos are punctuated with "behind the scenes" tidbits about the scenery, props, and most importantly, the wardrobe, often by the cast themselves.
What I Covet... the major players of the film:
Dior ExtremesA past sandal made current again. Available at:http://www.eluxury.com/estore
Budget hanging by a shoestring?
Versions by Steve Madden, Bakersshoes.com and Asos.com are currently available.

"Roger"
Carrie's waist-cinching "vintage" belt is now available at Shopintuition:

Honorable mention to...
Bitten Jeans by SJP herself, my favorite brand of low-end denim. When SJP paired hers with a Rick Owens top to a fitting, Patricia Fields reportedly suggested that was the outfit for the scene. See them when Big presents Carrie with her engagement closet.
